Margot Roi
Bracebridge, ON
Abstract artist Margot Roi holds an Arts/Technology degree from Sheridan College, an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Windsor and a BEd from Nipissing University. She has received numerous provincial and regional awards for her work as a visual artist.
Margot paints to remember joyous moments. She aims to establish emotional bridges: a reference to the places she’s travelled to, recalled settings, or unique forms in nature. Margot paints energetically with acrylic paint and stick media to capture memories that form the essence of her sense of identity.
“I view my canvas as a container for these intrinsic experiences. I’m inviting the viewer to wander around my responsive recollections to make connections to their own joyous memory, moment, or place.”
